The SummerSOC Young Researcher Award 2024, sponsored by ServTech, has been presented to Sebastian Böhm for his contribution to “API-driven Cloud-Edge Orchestration with PULCEO: a Proof of Concept“. PULCEO is a research platform for universal and lightweight cloud-edge orchestration. It provides a RESTful API to perform cloud edge orchestration activities, including topology creation, infrastructure monitoring, workload operation, evaluation of advanced service placement techniques, and experiment documentation.

Sebastian received his M.Sc. in Information Systems from the  University of Bamberg, Germany, in 2020. He is currently a research assistant at the Distributed Systems Group at the University of Bamberg, led by Prof. Dr. Guido Wirtz, Full Professor of Practical Computer Science. Under Guido’s guidance, Sebastian is pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science. His research interests include cloud computing, edge computing, and the Internet of Things.
